The term delta (Δ) is the Greek letter signifying the rate of change. In this case the Volume Delta indicator does just that. It shows the rate of change of market participants lifting the offer and hitting the bid. It is an indicator that measures the level of ‘aggression’ between buyers and sellers.

Description

Volume Delta shows the rate at which buyers lift the offer or sellers hit the bid. It is a way to measure buyer or seller aggression in a graphical way. There are two ways in which this information can be presented:

  • Cumulative: Shows a running sum of buyer or seller aggression (hits vs lifts) throughout the session
  • Per-Bar: Shows the hits vs lifts for each bar
